Dear Parents, Guardians, and Ferderbar Elementary School community,

As we begin a new school year, I am excited to welcome each of our students to Ferderbar Elementary School. As a proud Neshaminy graduate, it is an honor to join the Ferderbar community.  I have had the pleasure of working in Neshaminy School District for my entire career in education, first as a teacher for 18 years, then as Coordinator of Student Affairs at Tawanka Elementary School, and most recently as Assistant Principal at Maple Point Middle School.  I look forward to working with you to support your child’s growth and success.

At Ferderbar Elementary School, we believe that every student who walks through our doors is filled with potential, and it is our responsibility—as educators, families, and community members—to help them become the best possible version of themselves. We are committed to working together to create a school environment that inspires in each student a curiosity and love of learning. At the heart of everything we do is our shared Neshaminy mission: We build futures by empowering each child to become a productive citizen and a lifelong learner.

Our efforts are guided not only by our mission but also by the core beliefs that define the Neshaminy community:

Children are the future.

  • All people can learn, though we recognize that people learn in different ways and at different rates. We honor these differences with compassion, creativity, and high expectations.

  •   Achievement is realized through challenge—we encourage students to stretch themselves, knowing that growth often happens outside of one’s comfort zone.

  •   Trust promotes creative problem solving. We believe in creating a learning environment where students feel confident to take risks and be creative.
All people have worth, and that laughter, joy, and hope are essential to a quality life.

  •  We celebrate that valuing diversity strengthens our society, and we teach our students to appreciate and learn from one another’s unique experiences.

  •   Success builds self-esteem, and we strive to create a school culture where all students can succeed and feel proud of their achievements.

  •   We believe people have a responsibility to themselves and others—respectful, responsible, and safe behavior are our daily expectations of all students.

  •  Family is the cornerstone of society. We are grateful for your partnership and the support you provide to your children and to our school.

  •  A quality education is a right, and excellence in education requires support, sacrifice, and involvement from the total community.

  •  Lastly, we believe that all people have the right to a safe and healthy learning environment, and we are committed to ensuring that our school is a welcoming place for every student and family.

Together, with these beliefs as our foundation, we will work together to make this school year the best one yet! Please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Kristen McCreary
